We are huge fans of fancy and delicious appetisers! With our recipe for coconut prawns with Sriracha dip, you can easily prepare crispy prawns covered in a tropical coconut coating:
Preparation time: approx. 30 minutes
Ingredients:
500 g raw prawns, peeled, without head
1 egg
150 ml buttermilk
60 g flour
50 g panko breadcrumbs
50 g coconut flakes
½ tsp of each salt and garlic granulate
¼ tsp pepper
1 – 2 tbsp oil, ideally to spray
For the Sriracha dip:
150 g mayonnaise
1 -2 tsp Sriracha
1 tsp lime juice
1 clove garlic
Preparation:
For the dip, peel and press the garlic clove. Then, mix with mayonnaise, Sriracha and lime juice and let it steep.
Mix the egg with buttermilk and flour until smooth. In a second bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the coconut flakes and spices. Meanwhile, preheat your air fryer to 200 degrees.
Dip the prawns in the liquid batter, drain and then cover with the coconut flakes. Place in the hot air fryer and drizzle or spray with oil. Cook for approx. 5 minutes and flip. Then, cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve with the dip at the end.
