“Granola” is currently on everyone’s lips. Yet, this term actually means nothing more than homemade crunchy muesli. Making granola yourself is an absolute muesli trend at the moment – and with good reason: on the one hand, you save money and no longer have to buy expensive granola,on the other hand, you have the option of preparing it exactly the way you like it best.
You can change our granola recipe to suit your preferences.
Preparation time: in total approx. 1 hour
Ingredients:
300 g oat flakes
150 g nuts (e.g. sliced almonds, chopped hazelnuts)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
100 g oil
125 g honey
1 pinch of salt
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan oven: 160 degrees) and line the baking tray with baking paper.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. Now add honey and oil and mix with the remaining ingredients. Ideally, there should be a little oil and honey stuck to each flake and nut.
Now spread the mixture evenly on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. Then mix everything well and bake for another 10 minutes. Note: In the last 3-4 minutes, keep checking on the granola – depending on the ingredients, it may darken quickly.
After baking, leave to cool completely on the tray and then store in an airtight container. The granola will stay fresh and crunchy for up to 2 weeks.
