Preparation time: approx. 20 minutes + 15 minutes cooking time
Ingredients for 2 servings
2 steaks
200 ml port wine
100 ml coffee liqueur
40 ml dark balsamic vinegar
4 espressos
2 tablespoons coffee powder
200 ml beef bouillon
Preparation
Bring the port wine to boil in a saucepan and let it reduce a bit. Then add the coffee liqueur, the balsamic vinegar, the four espressos, the coffee powder and the beef bouillon and let it reduce for another 5 to 10 minutes while stirring. Taste with salt and pepper and allow to cool. Pour the cooled marinade over the steaks and massage gently.
Tip: Vacuum seal the marinated steaks and refrigerate overnight. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and vacuum wrap at least one hour before placing them on the grill. Allow to rest at room temperature.
Preheat the grill to high temperature. Pat the steaks with paper towels and place directly under the top heat for about 45 seconds. Turn the meat over and also place under the top heat for about 45 seconds. Then continue to grill until the desired level of doneness or core temperature is reached. Remove the grilled steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper before eating.
