Our sultana rolls shouldn’t be missing from any Easter table! Prepared with yeast dough, they taste especially delicious when lukewarm!
Preparation time: in total approx. 1,5 – 2 hours
Ingredients:
80 g butter
250 ml milk
500 g flour
40 g sugar
150 g sultanas
1 sachet vanilla sugar
1 sachet dry yeast
1 egg
1 pinch of salt
Preparation:
Heat the butter and milk in a small saucepan until the butter has melted. Then set aside.
Afterwards, mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and yeast. Now add the egg, salt and the butter-milk mixture. Mix everything with the dough hook of a mixer for about 5 minutes until a smooth dough is formed. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place until it has approximately doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat (fan oven: 180°C). Knead the dough again briefly on a floured work surface and add the sultanas evenly. Form into a roll and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover and leave to rise for another 15 minutes. Brush the rolls with a little milk and bake for approx. 15-20 minutes.
