Make delicious ice cream right at home and individually to your taste. This is possible with the IC 110 ice cream maker from Steba - fully automatic and self-cooling with Peltier element for the perfect ice cream consistency. The ice cream maker is ready for use immediately, as pre-cooling is not necessary. The 5 pre-set programmes (soft ice cream, ice cream, sorbet, yoghurt, DIY) and the LCD display ensure easy operation, and the automatic keep-cool function after the time has elapsed provides further convenience. In addition to the 1.2-litre ice cream container, there is also a 1.1-litre yoghurt container with lid, both of which are easy to remove for easy cleaning. The temperature range is approx. between -18°degrees and +50°degrees, including a heating function for yoghurt. Enjoy!

How does the Peltier element work?
A Peltier element is an electrothermal transducer which - based on the Peltier effect - generates a temperature difference in the case of current flow or a current flow in the case of temperature difference. Peltier elements can be used both for cooling and - when the direction of the current is reversed - for heating.
The basis for the Peltier effect is the contact of two semiconductors that have a different energy level (either p- or n-conducting) of the conduction bands. If a current is passed through two successive contact points of these materials, thermal energy must be absorbed at one contact point so that the electron reaches the energetically higher conduction band of the neighbouring semiconductor material, consequently cooling occurs. At the other contact point, the electron falls from a higher to a lower energy level, so that energy is released here in the form of heat.
The biggest advantages of a Peltier element are the small size, the low weight, the avoidance of any moving components, gases and liquids (refrigerants).
Of course, you can also make several types of ice cream in a row in the IC 110. It takes about 1.5 hours until the ice cream is ready.
