In our "Taste the World"-series, this time we are travelling to India and discover one of the country's most popular dishes: Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani)!
Butter chicken - creamy, flavoursome, irresistible
This world-famous Indian curry dish impresses with its incredibly soft consistency and its rich, velvety texture. Tomato curry sauce with a fine Butter and cream flavour. Flavoured with Garam masala, cumin, ginger and garlicit unfolds a intense flavourwhich turns every portion into a real moment of pleasure.
Whether with freshly baked Naan breadsteaming Basmati rice or pure - Butter Chicken is a Indian comfort food in a class of its own! And the best thing is: you can easily make it at home with our recipe.
Get ready for a culinary trip to India and discover the flavours of this fascinating country - full of spice, warmth and pure pleasure!
First, mix the chicken with the garam masala, paprika powder, turmeric, cumin, salt, yoghurt and lemon juice & marinate for at least 30 minutes (or longer if you have time).
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Then set aside.
Now heat the butter in the same pan, then fry the onion, garlic and ginger until soft. Add the tomatoes, garam masala, paprika powder, sugar and salt and simmer for 10 minutes. Then add the cream, stir well and simmer for a further 5-10 minutes until the sauce is nice and creamy.
Add the fried chicken to the sauce and mix everything well. Simmer for a further 5 minutes to allow the flavours to combine.
Sprinkle the butter chicken with fresh coriander leaves and serve. Best enjoyed with basmati rice or naan bread!
