Guinness chocolate cake

Are you looking for a special kind of chocolate cake? How about a moist and delicious Guinness chocolate cake? The cake with cream cheese frosting is absolutely amazing and will wrap every chocolate fan around its finger.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) and grease the baking tin.

Step 2

Put the Guinness and chopped butter in a saucepan and heat until the butter has melted. Then remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cocoa powder and sugar. Mix the sour cream, eggs and vanilla sugar well and whisk into the beer mixture.

Step 3

Finally, stir in the flour and baking soda until a smooth batter is formed. Pour the mixture into the baking tin and bake for approx. 45 - 60 minutes. The cake should be allowed to cool completely in the tin (approx. 2 hours) before removing from the tin.

Step 4

For the frosting, whip the cream with the sugar until stiff and then gradually stir in the cream cheese until the mixture has a creamy consistency. Spread over the cooled cake and serve.

  • 150 g icing sugar
  • 125 ml whipped cream
