Our sultana rolls should not be missing from any Easter table! Prepared with yeast dough, they taste especially delicious lukewarm!
Heat the butter and milk in a small saucepan until the butter has melted. Then set aside.
Mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and yeast. Then add the egg, salt and the butter-milk mixture. Mix everything with the dough hook of a mixer for approx. 5 minutes until a smooth dough is formed.
Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place until it has approximately doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat (fan oven: 180°C).
Knead the dough again briefly on a floured work surface and knead in the sultanas evenly. Form into a roll and divide into 12 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a roll and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover and let rise for another 15 minutes. Brush the rolls with a little milk and bake for approx. 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
