Preparation

Step 1

Firstly, shape the minced beef into 4 equal-sized balls (approx. 120 g each). Do not press too firmly. Preheat the barbecue to a high heat.

Step 2

Cut the burger buns in half and brush the cut surfaces with the melted butter.

Step 3

Now place the meat on the grill and immediately flatten with a firm, flat spatula (approx. 1 cm thick). Use a piece of baking paper to prevent the meat from sticking to the spatula. Season the patties with salt and pepper and grill for about 2 minutes until the edges are brown and crispy. Then turn over and grill for a further 2 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on each patty so that the cheese melts.

Step 4

Now place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill and toast briefly until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 5

Place the grilled patties on the bottom halves of the buns. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, gherkins and sauces as desired and finish with the top half of the bun.
