There's hardly anything better than a delicious berry spread with crunchy chocolate chips on a freshly baked loaf of bread. Our delicious blueberry chocolate spread also makes a great little gift:
Wash and drain the blueberries. Then place the berries in a saucepan with the preserving sugar and lemon juice and leave to infuse for approx. 15 minutes.
Then puree the mixture with a blender. If you do not want berries in the jam, puree the mixture a little longer. Then boil the blueberry mixture again for about 5 minutes until bubbling.
Meanwhile, roughly chop the dark chocolate and stir into the blueberry mixture. Fill the (hot) blueberry-chocolate spread into clean, sterile jars and seal directly.
If stored in a cool place in the dark, the jam will keep for about a year. Store opened jars in the refrigerator.
